ARPANET, the short term of Advanced Research Project Agency Network, is known as the founder of internet. In the first time, internet is computer network which was build by US Defense Department for military purposes in 1969. In the first research this agency tried to combine hardware and Unix software to possibly make limitless distance communication trough telephone. This first project focused on network form and volume capacity for uploaded information. This research then appears what we know as TCP/IP now. TCP/IP is the sort term for Transmission control protocol/ Internet protocol.

The first purpose of building internet network is for military matter. In that time US Defense Department build internet network which related among important and vital military region. In the first time, it connected only some sites. They are Stanford Research Institute, California University, Barbara University and Utah University. These academic institutions made united network. Not long after that, this project had great progress in all regions. Because of that progress, a lot of universities and countries tend to join in the network. This big network group made Arpanet got difficulty to run and manage.

Because of that difficulty, Arpanet is divided in to two kinds. Milnet is kept to military purposes and the other smaller Arpanet division was focused for scientific institution like universities and research. The combination of two divisions was known as Darpanet then soon it was famous as Internet
